Organize Secret Santa

Organize Secret Santa online without managing every detail in chat

With Wichtlify, you create the group, add participants, set exclusions and run a secret draw. Each person uses a personal link and sees only who they are giving to.

  • Create a Secret Santa group in a few steps
  • Share personal links instead of posting assignments
  • Prepare exclusions, wishes, budget and date in one place

How it works

From group setup to a secret draw

You create the group, add the people who should take part and save the basics such as budget and date. Before the draw, you can check who is in and which people should not be matched with each other.

When everything is ready, Wichtlify runs the secret draw and creates one assignment for each participant. There is no public result list; everyone opens a personal link. If you want to understand exclusions and self-matches before inviting people, see how the draw works.

Easy participation

Participants can join without unnecessary friction

The organizer uses Wichtlify to prepare and manage the round. Participants can open their personal link in the browser; email addresses are optional when you add people to the group.

People who use the app can sign in with Apple, Google or email. People who need the easiest option can use their private link on the web. If your group already talks in chat, you can share Wichtlify links in WhatsApp without turning the chat into the draw itself.

Private and practical

Each person sees only their own assignment

The draw stays secret. Each participant sees only who they are giving to and, when wishes are enabled, the wishes of that person.

Exclusions are set before the draw. That helps with couples, people from the same household or other combinations that should not be matched, as long as a valid draw is still possible.

Organizer overview

You can see what still needs attention before the draw

The dashboard shows what has already been prepared and what matters next. That makes it easier to avoid missing participants, unclear exclusions or forgotten group details before you draw.

For larger or recurring groups, Pro can add extra help: Smart Draw can consider previous assignments when the same group history is reused, Repair is a safety net for special cases after a draw, and scheduled reminders help you follow up without writing every message manually.

FAQ

What does Wichtlify do for a Secret Santa round?

Wichtlify helps you create the group, add participants, save exclusions, run a secret draw and share personal links with the people taking part.

Does every participant need to register?

No. The organizer needs an account to manage the group. Participants can use their personal link on the web; app users can also sign in with Apple, Google or email.

Can Wichtlify prevent someone from drawing themselves?

Yes. The draw prevents self-matches. Exclusions saved before the draw are also considered as long as Wichtlify can still create a valid assignment.

What does the group still decide itself?

Budget, gift style, shipping, handover, humor boundaries and replacement rules remain group decisions. Wichtlify supports organization, the secret draw, personal links, exclusions and optional wishes.

Can participants add wish lists?

Yes. Wishes are optional. They help the giver choose a better gift, but the Secret Santa round also works without wish lists.

When is Wichtlify Pro worth considering?

Pro is mainly useful for larger, recurring or changing groups, for example with Smart Draw, Repair, scheduled reminders, admin messages or more insight into group readiness.

Create the group and prepare the draw

Start with the group, add participants and run the draw only when exclusions, budget and date are clear.
